FAQ’s
PROGRAM QUESTIONS
Q: Will food and housing be provided?
A: Yes, food and housing will be provided, although it is recommended that you bring some spending cash for snacks or eating out in your free time on the weekends. Housing will be separate male and female apartments, each with shared kitchen and living area. You will need to bring your own bedding.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: Yes, there are scholarships available based on need. We do encourage you to raise funds from your church, friends, and family first. Please reach out to us at luke18@ihopkc.org for more information.
Q: What will the schedule be like?
A: Most weekdays will include time in the prayer room, classroom teaching, practical ministry labs, small groups, and encounter nights. Weekends will be a lighter schedule.
Q: What will the practical ministry labs entail?
A: It will be hands-on ministry training in prayer, worship, preaching, prophecy, evangelism, leadership, and more, where you get to put into practice what you learn. Week 3 will include an immersive, on-campus training experience.
COVID-19 QUESTIONS
Q: What are your protocols for COVID-19?
A: As a community, IHOPKC is committed to honoring all state and city-wide ordinances related to public health. Our team will be incorporating safety policies to ensure the health and well-being of all staff and SLP participants in the wake of this pandemic.

TRAVEL QUESTIONS
Q: What to bring?
A: Bible, laptop/tablet (optional), Bible study materials (eg. journal), bedding (sleeping bag OR pillow, sheets, and blanket), casual & modest clothing, personal toiletries, alarm clock, spending cash, prescription medications. Optional: portable musical instruments, swim attire (ladies, one-piece swimsuits only please), athletic clothing.
Q: Should I bring my car?
A: Yes. The daily schedule will require commuting between sites. If you are coming without a car, you will need to carpool with other drivers (please be mindful to pitch in for gas). Drivers, please make sure that you have current state-required liability insurance.
Q: Which airport should I fly into?
A: Kansas City International Airport (MCI)
Q: Are airport pickups available if I come by plane?
A: We offer airport transportation on the official start and end dates of Summer Leadership Program — June 26th and July 16th.
Q: What will the weather be like?
A: Usually Kansas City summer weather can be hot and humid, depending on the year (65-90° F / 18-32° C).
MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS
Q: Can I work during SLP?
A: No, you will not be have the time or bandwidth to carry a job during SLP. If you are a local student, please plan to take time off of work while you’re in the program.
Q: My parents want to come visit – can they stay with me at SLP housing?
A: Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate any guests in SLP housing. They are welcome to visit but will need to procure their own housing.
